About Us
Tabatinga, Coffs Harbour was the brainchild of Cathy & Brian Parker following extensive research both at home and abroad.
Cathy & Brian have a strong background in facility management and have worked in the hospitality and recreation industry for many years. Using the adage that ‘if you are the smartest person in the room, then you are in the wrong room’, Cathy & Brian surrounded themselves with quality suppliers, designers and advisors to arrive at the facility and branding that exists today.
The rainforest theme avails itself to a myriad of plants, animals, sounds and colours to create a majestic atmosphere that appeals to everyone that enters the facility. Play time and relaxation are greatly enhanced in a well themed environment and a great importance was made with regards to the look and feel of the venue. In an era that sees most of the world’s population wanting a cleaner, greener planet, a rainforest environment presented in a fun and interactive way can teach our younger generations the importance of the rainforest to the survival of the planet.
The attraction selection was carefully chosen to allow participation by all members of a typical family unit including grandparents. The soft play caters to the very young and allows children aged between 1 and 10 to actively play in a safe and hygienic environment. The mini-golf and balladium allows parent/guardian participation with the children and has appeal to older aged groups such as youth groups, church groups and sporting teams. Those with a competitive streak can satisfy their urges with a round of mini-golf and a session in the balladium arena.
At Tabatinga we have tried to set an example in supporting the rainforest conservation. The venue uses greener options and recycled utensils wherever possible and has sponsored The Australian Orangutan Project & The Nature Conservancy in their efforts to conserve both the animals and land mass of the rainforest.
